How to adjust waterfall drive in DigiPan
Hi,
I am trying to adjust the waterfall drive in the DigiPan software I just downloaded. It is running in a Windows Vista environment, on a laptop PC. The rig is a Small Wonder PSK20, which I built and used successfully a few years ago.
The waterfall display center is mostly yellow, which seems to indicate the waterfall drive is too high. When I go to CONFIGURE, and select WATERFALL DRIVE, nothing happens. Most of the other selections in the CONFIGURE button menu work fine. I can see stations having QSOs, and the text is fine. I just need to figure out how to adjust the soundcard settings, or get the WATERFALL DRIVE selection to work.
Any suggestions where to start? I will keep trying to figure this out.
Thanks,

Hi Rob,
I just downloaded and installed DigiPan on my laptop (I'm a Ham Radio Deluxe / DM780 guy myself), and although I am running XP, I think I may have found the solution to your problem.
When I clicked on Waterfall Drive, it pulled up the Windows Recording Control volume adjustment. DigiPan was not written for Vista, so my guess is that it isn't able to open the adjustment box on Vista. You should be able to adjust that yourself by going to the Control Panel, clicking on Classic View in the sidebar if you're not already in Classic View, then double clicking on Sound. Choose the Recording tab, then double click your default input device. The audio level adjustment will be under the Level tab.
Another solution would be to try another newer software package. My personal recommendation would be the Ham Radio Deluxe suite which includes Digital Master 780. I have used it on Vista, and it works quite well.
Oh, the joys of Vista! :)
